Ok, so I got some new florescent light bulbs for my new 20gallon today, One of them was broken when we opened the package, however the other was fine. Anyways, I have the one non cracked bulb in my tank now, and I've noticed a really metallic smell coming from the hood of my tank.

I've noticed a slight smell from my other 20gallons florescent bulb, but it's never bothered me. However this time it's extremely strong. The new tank also has metal reflectors in it. Could the smell be coming from that heated metal? Is it the actual Bulb? Is it dangerous to me or my other small animals???

I'ma bit worried cause I've never smelt anything this strong before.

It was two different packs ^^ ones was fine, that I checked all over for cracks, and its the one i'm currently using, the other is packed back up to be returned. However the funky smell is still in the air and it's got me worried.

Take note I never used the cracked one, I always inspect everything that has to do with my tank before I use it. Hince, how found out it was cracked.
