Hello, please can anyone help. This morning I’ve noticed my betta has a fuzzy white cotton like substance on the tip of his tail.
Ive only had him since the 4th of June.

I’ll attach a photo from the day I got him and one taken just now

I plan to go to the aquatics shop first in the morning, but wondered if anyone recognises it.
I’ve googled lots of different diseases but I haven’t been able to find anything that matches exactly

It appears to be fungus that took hold on a damaged/bitten portion of the tail. Fresh water and salt will take care of it, but I hesitate to recommend salt not knowing what ich treatment you're using.

BTW, Bumble Bee Gobies, interesting drolls though they are, are notorious fin nippers and I'd wager they caused this issue. I'd never keep them with a betta. They even go after short-finned species. I saw them chomp on the tails of White Clouds. Some years ago there was an effort on line to refute their fin-nipping reputation but this in turn has been debunked by eye-witness accounts, mine included.
