I found this boy at Petsmart. I never saw a gray betta before

He's a Copper ^_^ Coppers are one of my favorites since they can look so different in different lighting!

He is? :) I looked closer and he does look copperish, like a silver copperish.

Yeah, Copper can be any color really but the "copper" part is the hyper-metallic shine on the fish's fins. Your boy is beautiful, btw

I knew I had to have him when I saw him. Dumbo eared bettas like him hardly ever come to Petsmart.

The copper is not just on the fins, it's on the scales too. It's a trait which we've bred over time to have thicker scales. That is where Dragon's come from and he's not a full Dumbo, only a partial. He holds the geno but he's not a real EE, to be classified as an EE his ears have to be 1/3 of his body length, at present they are little less than 1/4 and are just colored pectorals. All the same, he's absolutely gorgeous!

I had to snatch him up. I love copper betta's almost as much as dragons and marbles. I think I am going to name him whitefang. :)
