The last time i saw my aunts fish it was just dark blue, but it seems to have grown a grey beard? You can see the scale pattern through the veard, it isnt fuzzy but seems odd that part of him would randomly turn grey. Bacterial, fungal, just change, deadly?

He is usually in a 1.5gallon and gets a 100% change once a week, he lives with a small plant and glass beads. Right now he's in a 1 gallon vase with nothing else since my other aunt is watching him

I'll try and do a full water change Tuesday when I see him again. She premakes special water for her fish so I'll test the water too

Idk what she uses but she has gallon jugs of "fish water" that do smell like they have fish chemicals

Maybe, hopefully. I'm gonna do a full water change, test his water, and add a "toy" to his travel tank. He is eating fine

He's fine I guess

got him moved to a new 1.7g tank with new water, turns out the stuff my aunt conditions her water with only treats nitrites, ammonia, and chlorine, not nitrates or heavy metals. Anyways fixed up his water and got him in a new tank, he was pretty stressed but should be ok. Much better than a 1g glass bowl with nothing else in it.
