I don't know if you already have a thermometer but if not buy one as soon as possible. It's really important to be able to monitor the temp. in the tank so you don't cook him as you said above. Thermometer are cheap, you can get a good one for a couple of bucks at the petstore. I keep my water at 80.

I have a thermometer already.


Im just concerned with the heater overall since Ive never heard of the brand and cant really find anything on it.
