Hi all! Freshman year of highschool, I fell so in love with bettas that i was deemed "the crazy cat person of fish" by my friends. I had up to 7 tanks in my room at a time including a 20 gallon with a sorority of 6 females. I tried to breed (unsuccessfully) a handful of times and was on a first-name basis with all the employees at my local petco. during the Covid pandemic these past couple years, I fell away from this forum despite it being my favorite place online. well, I just graduated Highschool and I'm finally back!! I currently have two tanks. My five gallon has my galaxy koi male,Dusk. There is almost a perfect split down his body, his head is primarily yellow and his tail mostly black reminding me of the split between day and night so I thought the name Dusk would be perfect. Dawn, the female koi I bought for my girlfriend but am keeping at my house for now, is in a three gallon. Both tanks have three ghost shrimp buddies, an anubias plant suction cupped to the glass for them to lay on, and a filter. Dusk also has an LED light fixture above his tank. currently, Dawn is recovering from a jump out of her tank this morning. I will bringing them to college with me in august where I am studying medicine and horticulture in hopes of becoming an apothecary. I am hoping to breed them this summer before I move but that all depends on Dusks recovery. Im hoping to become quite active on this forum and cant wait to meet my fellow betta lovers! when I'm not nerding out over bettas, I enjoy art, fashion, coffee, music, and spending time with the people I love.

Dusk is loving his new tank though! I am hoping to get another female for my now empty tank soon. RIP Dawn
