Hi I'm new to this site but not to bettas. My daughter gave me a betta about three years ago. It came in a planted container with the lucky bamboo. It past away about 6 monthes ago. After going to the local pet store a few weeks ago I got a baby betta (looked like a tiny minnow, lol), I searched the internet on how to care for them and came across the site and boy oh boy didn't know half of what I learned here:oops:. Since I got my first baby ended up getting another two!!! one baby and older one. Hope to gain friends and more knowledge in this community.

Thank You!! Yes I am going to post pics as soon as I can find software that I can use for my laptop so it will download my pics. Because I would like to find out if someone would know exactly what kind of Bettas the two babies are. :)

Great! Yeah I've gotten pretty good at sexing baby Betta's although some still confuse you right up to maturity haha.

I've got two myself, one CT and one VT both boys :-D

My oldest is a delta tail and I'm thinking maybe the same for the babies but not sure. The first baby betta that I got turned out to be blue(Freedom), then the second baby red orangish/black and aqua(scud), and last but not least we got Bam Bam(grandson named him) is white dragon scale with red fins. I thought Bam Bam had a funny looking tail so I sat there really watching him and looks that his tail must be repairing itself cause it clear.

Yup there are types of colors called Cellophane, just regular clear fins. Sometimes they have just a band of clear fins as well around colored fins making it a Cellophane butterfly coloration which is pretty cool in my opinion :-D

They all sounds adorable though ^_^

Here are my Bettas

The first two are of Freedom, I got him 4wks ago and he looked like a minnow with just barely a hint of blue. He is 1 1/4" long.
Then there is Scud, I got him 2wks ago. And he is 1 1/2" long. He has gotten a little bigger but not much.
Then there is Bam Bam, I got him about two days after Scud. He is 2" long. After 4 day in quarantine tank he blew a massive bubble nest.
All measurements are including the tails. Hoping to find out boys/girls, and what kind of betta. I was thinking DT but don't really know for sure.

Beautiful boys! Yep all boy's here. Freedom might be a DeT but without being able to count the ray's on his tail I can't know. He's looking like he might start to droop and be a VT though. He's a solid blue coloration.

Scuds is a male plakat with wild type coloration.

And Bam Bam looks like a Super DeT, red/white Dragon Scale coloration.

Oh and when you measure Betta's you measure from nose to peduncle which is the beginning of the tail, in other words you don't measure the tail ^_^
