Help!! Major ammonia poison emergency!!

inside, had a fern but took it out because he was freaking out because of it (when it got close, its pretty big)

How often do you feed your Betta? How much? when i first got him i would feed him 7-8 tetra pellets once a day in the morning. When i got the hikari i would do 4 in the morning. Then my mother decided to throw in several pellets inside one day and had to remove them myself. ( i believe this was the cause of the illness or worsened it..)

Maintenance:
Before your Betta became ill how often did you perform a water change? i had a hard time with this because the filter i bought had a strong current and i turned it off sometimes ( he would hide in the cave) then i got the foam one but by then it was to late (this one works well) i had no idea about how often i should do water changes because the pet store told me to change it every two weeks. since he's been in big tank I've changed the water 100% 2 times. and like 3 25% water change in a course of almost two weeks. the water got muggy often like by the next day (this is before the new filter and with the old one off)

What percentage of water did you change? twice 100% and 3 time 25% and I've also done a 50% water changes like twice..

Do you vacuum the substrate or just dip out water? when i do 100% change I've drained the water and then removed the pebbles and wash them separately with water.
What additives do you use? API stress coat before that i used instant DeCHLor little blue bottle. i recently bought API sea salt, have only used this in the last two days..(i just found out about that) I've bought tetra fungus guard and life guard, did a treatment on tuesday changed 50% water today and put half a pill of lifeguard today with 50% of the tank filled.

Symptoms and Treatment:
When did you first notice the symptoms? he started with fin rot, i noticed the darkness about a week ago but i didn't know what it was nor did i think too much about..ive had this tank for two weeks now so i would say the symptoms were really noticeable in the last week. I just started researching Saturday but it was already to late. Fin rot was advanced, he was already twitching but it was minor( it seemed like he was trying catch something in the surface of the water. i am completely clueless about these things. they got worse when i did water change and started medication for fungus guard. (stress coat was used this whole time)

How has your Betta’s appearance changed? since he's been in the tank, he's lost color and started to look real beat up with tares in fins ( i thought it was his cave so i got him a new one) then sat i saw big chunks missing and started to research..(had to leave for two days for an emergency and couldn't do anything until monday )

How has your Betta’s behavior changed? a week after being the new tank he started to dart at the surface like he was catching something, he started eating less and sinking to the bottom, his swimming changed, he started to hang vertically in the surface from time to time but still swam around

Have you started treating your Betta? If so, how? i started treating fin rot with tetra fungus guard didn't work so i went to look for life guard today is day one of treatment but thats when i learned of Ammonia poisoning, so i did a water change but again i used stress coat with the tap water

Okay, there are many things you will need to eventually learn about tank care, but first let's get your Betta back to normal. You will need:
-A bare, heated hospital tank with no filter
-Aquarium salt
-An ammonia detoxifying water conditioner such as Kordon Amquel+ or Seachem Prime, either will work.
You can either buy a different hospital tank or just take everything out of the tank you already have.

To treat the fin rot, you will need one of the following medicines, whichever you can acquire the soonest:
-API Furan-2
-Mardel Maracyn-2
-Seachem Kanaplex
-Jungle Fungus Clear Tablets

(Your Fungus Guard is not actually an antibiotic, and won't have much of an effect against the rot.)

I would also recommend purchasing some India Almond Leaves, as the tannins released by the leaves help to soothe the fish. These can be found on Amazon or Ebay.

Also, you will need a water testing kit. The API Freshwater Master Test Kit has the best value, plus liquid test kits are more accurate.

Once you have your hospital tank set up, fill it with water conditioned by whatever ammonia detoxifier you bought. It will come with instructions on how to dose. You don't need the stress coat at this time. Remember to keep the hospital tank heated.

Start with dissolving 1/4 tsp of aquarium salt (AQ) per gallon. You will need to dissolve it in preconditioned water. Never add undissolved salt to a tank with a fish in it, as it burns. I scoop some tank water out and dissolve the salt in a separate container then add it back in.

If you have India almond leaves (IAL), you can add about 1 leaf per 5 gallons. There are many different ideas about IAL dosing, but that dose is safe and will still have an effect.

Once you have this setup, test it to make sure that all the water parameters are okay. They should be as follows:
Ammonia: <0.2 ppm, ideally 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: <20 ppm, ideally 0
Chlorine: 0
pH: 6.5-7.5
Hardness (GH): You can learn about this later.
Alkalinity (KH): Ideal is 120-180, but don't spend time fixing this right now if it's not.

Another thing: water conditioners detoxify chlorine and chloramines. Chlorine is toxic to fish. Many water supplies add chloramines to detoxify the chlorine but neither are great for the fish, so if you haven't been using a water conditioner that detoxifies them, chlorine, and to a lesser extent chloramines, may be harming your fish.

Once you have done all of this, you may add your betta to the hospital tank. I would let your fish get used to the new environment before medicating right away, maybe wait about 6 hours.

Once you have your fish situated in the hospital tank, you can start to medicate for the fin rot. You might want to wait a few days and do some methylene blue baths before you medicate though. Once you have your fish in clean, treated water, the fin rot infection should slow down and you will be given some time to treat the ammonia burns before the fin rot.

Unless the fin rot is very aggressive and turns into body rot, it's probably the least harmful and least fatal of any betta ailment. Sometimes it will even heal by itself, but since your seems to be quite advanced, medication would be ideal.

Different medications require different types of water changes, so make sure to read the instructions regarding dosage and water changes. Also be aware that some medications will turn the water a different color.

Petsmart carries aquarium salt, Prime conditioner, and the API test kit. They also carry API Erythromycin and API Tetracycline which are also effective for treating fin rot. These will all be in general fish care sections since they are not for bettas specifically. They should have sections for conditioners, test kits, medicines, etc. If you want I can link you the specific products on the Petsmart website so you know exactly what you're looking for.

I don't think Petsmart carries methylene blue so you will have to order it from somewhere; I know you can from Amazon. Kordon is the least expensive brand and can be ordered on Amazon Prime. You will also have to order IALs from Amazon or ebay.

Pretty much everyone uses tap water. Tap water has minerals in it that are good for fish and it's also the least expensive.

Since he is having trouble swimming keeping the water low is good. Just keep in mind that since it is filled halfway you will need to dose things for 2.5 gallons instead of 5.
