Okay, not literally build it, but decide what goes inside! I plan to house two veiltail boys, divided with the famous mesh dividers.
So I picked a 10 gallon tank. I can get that locally. But first question is, rocks or sand? I'm hoping to get live plants right away, but it really depends on my paycheck. Also, what plants are recommended for someone who has never dealt with plants?

EDIT: Just so there's no confusion, I know the air pump needs tubing. I will be getting that.

looks good to me.
i would go with sand, i like it better lol (youll need some root tabs too).
i would start with some anubis, java moss, java ferns, or penny wart. there are more easy ones too.
what type of light do you have?
if your not doing live plants right away then defiantly get some large silk ones to go by the dividers.

I completely forgot I would need a light. What kind do I need? Would one in a tank hood work?

yes, youll want a compact flouecent bulb though and it needs to say 6500k, just make sure how many wats your hood can hanlde.
a clip on, or desk lamp works too!
theese are the bulbs i got from walmart for around 6$
