This is my Blue Bully girl. I got her when I got my other Koi females. She was LITTLE. Now, she's 2nd biggest in the tank. I believe my largest Koi is the alpha, but she's less aggressive. Blue Bully **thinks** she's Alpha, but if she ever nips at Alpha Female, she gets a swift nip in return... then, she goes to bother other smaller girls in the Sorority. Actually, I don't think she's a problem, as all the girls are healthy, and there's LOTS of places to hide in the Pothos and stuff.

This post was to ask: How do I classify her? Not a Blue Koi, right? Delta tail? Thanks for your opinions and info!

Koi is defined as any combination of red, orange, yellow or black only; usually on a flesh-colored body. If a Betta has blue it cannot be a Koi even though people sell them as such.

Has she changed colors at all? Whatever she is, she's one gorgeous lady.

She was MUCH smaller when I first got her (3 months ago?), and she was a less-defined marbled blue. I had to remove one of those round lice from her chin (really gross), so she's kinda been through it... Almost all of the girls in my sorority tank have "brightened" after bringing them home -- healthy water? good food? lots of room to run around?

PS, yeah, when I first noticed her aggression, I almost gave her to a friend with another Sorority, but I was torn, because she "grew up" so pretty... I'm glad it's worked out -- whether she's chilled out, or the other girls "fought back" enough, the tank is pretty happy now. I think, aside from 2 of my males, she's probably the prettiest or most interesting Betta in our "family."
