i have finally decided not to try to put any tankmates with a betta because while i would love to, i just dont think i have room for a tank big enough. Now i call on the members of fish forum to help pick my tank, once i buy it i will post pics. here is my criteria thanks for your help.
Tank can't be loger than 15 inches.
The tank has to come with a filter and light.
the filter has to be absolutley silent.
the tank has to be at least 2.5 gal.
What do you think?

This one is good, but the green led burns out fast.

This looks good but I don't know about the filter being noisy or not.

Aqueon Mini Bows look like they'd be okay aquariums.

I would really suggest looking at some commercial pet shop websites to find ideas. There are a lot of options out there, but a lot of decision making is based on personal preference as far as aquarium shape.

I have both an Aqueon Mini Bow 2.5 and 5. They come with hoods, lights and filters. The filters are very quiet once you baffle them. I have few complaints about these tanks and I've had them for just over 6 months. I especially like the Mini Bow 5. It's roomy and a nice-looking desktop aquarium. Elliot had no problem with the filter when I had him in the 2.5 and likes it in the 5 as well. The betta I have in the 2.5 now didn't like the filter at all, so I removed it. He's a super delta, so I think with his bigger tail, the filter was just in the way. It wasn't even a flow issue.

Just one word of advice... Petsmart tends to have Mini Bows on sale a lot and they are much cheaper there than at Petco. I learned this the expensive way ;)

I got my tanks from petsmart. I hate buying their fish, but their supplies can be pretty nice. I also have 2 5gal tanks that are really nice from walmart. Once again, bad fish care, but great fish supplies.

I have my betta in a mini bow 2.5 I don't use the filter (not needed in a tank that small and with only a betta in it) and I upgraded the bulb that came with it with a Mini Fluorescent 10watt from walmart fairly cheap and provides much better color that doesn't fuel algae. Its about 10inchs wide also.

XD I totally agree with this. Petco's fish are taken much better care of than Walmart's and Petsmart's. But both of those have cheaper and better fish supplies than Petco... What a dilemma.

From 7 years' experience in keeping bettas, I've found the Aqueon Mini Bow aquariums to be very reliable. I always liked them best because they were starter kits, which meant all-inclusive for tank, hood, light, filter, etc. and they have always been (and continue to be) very affordable.

My only problem with the Mini Bow's is that on every one I've owned (1 gal, 2.5 gal, and 3 gal) the light has ALWAYS been a problem. Usually, it's the wiring or the light fixture... something internal that would require replacing the entire light, not just the bulb. On the smaller Mini Bow's, I've also had the screws which keep the light protected and away from the water rust out, thus exposing the bulb to condensation. So, I've always removed the lighting system entirely from these tanks and had a desk lamp right by the tank - my boys have never had any problems.

Their filters have also gotten A LOT quieter... the one I have now in the 3 gal that came with the tank IS COMPLETELY SILENT, which I have never had before with any tank prior to this. It's so quiet I often have to lift the hood to make sure the water is flowing! This fits your criteria perfectly.

Just my two cents. Hope it helps!
