My results are currently at:
PH 7ppm
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 2.0ppm
Nitrate 5.0ppm
Not sure what to do now?
I’ve been doing a fishless cycle for 5 weeks now at 78 degrees. The tank went all cloudy about a week ago and is already cleared up.
Any advice?
That's very interesting. the ph and ammonia levels are fine, but the nitrites and nitrates are not as good. Nitrites should be at 0 and nitrates should be between 10-20ppm. You might want to do a water change to lower the nitrites. Have you been putting food in while cycling?
Yes I have, maybe I should stop? I was also thinking of using Prime, but I don’t want to throw anything off. I just want to make sure our little fish dude is safe whenever we finally do the transfer.
I think while you are cycling your tank you should be using prime? I'm not too sure about that. I'm still cycling my tank and I've been adding food, and it's been working fine for me. How much food have you been adding per day?
