How many gallons is your tank?
15 gallon
Does it have a filter?
Yes
Does it have a heater?
No
What temperature is your tank?
No idea
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration?
No
Does your Betta have tank mates? What kind?
There are 6 rosbarbs and 2 octto cats

Food:
What food brand do you use?
Tetra flakes are the ones he eats
Do you feed flakes or pellets?
Flakes
Freeze-dried?
Freeze dried blood worms are given to him also
How often do you feed your Betta? How much?
The entire tank gets feed a pinch twice a day. I have an automatic feeder.

Maintenance:
Before your Betta became ill how often did you perform a water change?
Bi weekly
What percentage of water did you change?
Roughly half the water
What is the source of your water?
Tap, but its set to be conditioned
Do you vacuum the substrate or just dip out water?
Vacuum the substrate. The plants are getting more so its getting harder.
What additives do you use? What brand of conditioner?
Currently using python steps 1,2 and 3.

Water Parameters:
never tested the water.

Symptoms and Treatment:
When did you first notice the symptoms?
This week. I left him for close to a month to visit family and came back to a sad looking fish.
How has your Betta’s appearance changed?
Theres a growth on the lower left side of his face. Since seperating him today it seems to be bleeding.
How has your Betta’s behavior changed?
Hes lethargic. Doesnt move or eat much. He swims fine when he does move.
Is your Betta still eating?
Rarely
Have you started treating your Betta? If so, how?
Ive just seperated him
Does your Betta have any history of being ill?
No
How long have you owned your Betta?
Almost 2 and half years
Was he or she ill or suffering some sort of damage when purchased?
Not as far as i know

Hi there.
Firstly, if he's a pet store fish, you should know that he's getting on in years and without temperature, the water conditioner and water parameter readings, I cannot comment much on the care.
Separating him is a good first step, you should also get a thermometer and if needed, a heater to keep his water in the 78 - 82 degrees Fahrenheit range.
For the lesion and sore on his mouth you want to look for Furan 2 or E.M. Erythromycine or Kanaplex. Being in Canada, I'm not sure what will be available to you.

You can also use some aquarium salt at 1 tsp per gallon for a few days (no more than 10). Being an older fish, his immune system is not as strong as the younger ones and he really would benefit from the medications as opposed to the therapeutics.
