I have one male veiltail betta living in the top fin 5.5 gallon starter kit. I noticed the filter was to strong for my betta and a baffle with a water bottle wasn't working. How can I slow this Top Fin 10 filter?

Both things zozoe said! I baffled mine the same way, I bought a wide enough sponge to go all the way across the outflow and in front of the intake, the while width of the front of the filter, and i bought the fluval pre filter sponge for the intake. :) if you have a petco near you, I saw them on the clearance table yesterday!

My current pushes my betta around a tiny bit but he doesn't seem to mind and actually appears to enjoy swimming against the current. If your current is so strong that it's still stopping your betta from swimming around freely or if the fish stays hidden in corners I would try to lower the sponge to reduce the current that much more or try the bottle baffling way, the method is shown step by step in that link .
