When I was feeding Arthur(a veiltail) earlier I noticed his tail fin looked shredded. Like thin straight lines are missing from it. It's only his tail fin and it doesn't look like bite marks to me so could it be one of the plants? They're plastic. If I don't know which one caused it, should I pull them all? Anything else I should be doing?

Bumping this one up for DaisyKD. Can anyone help? :)

DaisyKD - it would really help other folks to help you if you could read the sticky at the top of the forum and provide the information suggested. A picture of Arthur's tail posted here would also help :)

It sounds like he may be having issue with the filter...some long fin males can't handle the water movement...fins are to delicate.....

What I would do is remove the filter for 30 days and increase water changes to twice weekly....1-50% and 1-100% and see if you can tell the difference-otherwise it may be tail biting.....

You might want to vary his diet more and increase nutrition in general too.....good quality varied diet fed in small frequent meals....
