Hi just wanted say im new to raising bettas and hope to learn a lot more about them. I had just picked up my betta a week ago, current setup is a 2.5gal tank with a thermometer, i had also added a java fern (hoping it will grow), no water filter, no heater atm due to temp remaining pretty constant and in the green.

I had just learned about cycling a new tank, basically doing a fish in cycle, after a few days the water became cloudy and then it started clearing up, but now i am noticing that there are transparent white slime that is floating around in the tank, ive done a 50% water change but the slime is still in the tank, not sure if its from bacteria growth or some form of algae, any advice will help thanks :)
