Hi just wanted say im new to raising bettas and hope to learn a lot more about them. I had just picked up my betta a week ago, current setup is a 2.5gal tank with a thermometer, i had also added a java fern (hoping it will grow), no water filter, no heater atm due to temp remaining pretty constant and in the green.
I had just learned about cycling a new tank, basically doing a fish in cycle, after a few days the water became cloudy and then it started clearing up, but now i am noticing that there are transparent white slime that is floating around in the tank, ive done a 50% water change but the slime is still in the tank, not sure if its from bacteria growth or some form of algae, any advice will help thanks

previous tank (closer shot)
