Hi all, I'm new, and like a newb, I made my first panicky post to the diseases subforum. Goodness.

I've recently rediscovered keeping fish, having not had any in probably about 7 years. I have a beautiful blue crown tail betta named Blu-ray (My friends all wanted to name him betamax D:) who I love like I've never loved a fish before, as well as an unfortunate walmart baby who is doing much better now that I've dropped him into my medicated hospital tank.

I also have a community tank where my three wonderful shrimp happily steal all the food from my tetras.

I'm hoping I can meet some nice fish-savvy friends, considering the only person I know who has kept anything more interesting than a gold fish is a salt water invert buff with no knowledge of freshwater tropical fish!

Oh, and here's a picture of Blu.

Hello,
And welcome to the forum. I am a newb myself to freshwater. Seven years ago, I had a reef tank for 10 years. The experience has helped me in some areas of freshwater.
Welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of Betta keeping.....

Look forward to hearing more about your Betta adventures and seeing more pic....

Enjoy your stay.....
Hello and welcome to the forum. I'm from Kentucky, too.
Kappa, were you hit by the tornado march 2?
Ha, which one? But no, I was safely tucked away at work ignoring the whole thing. We lost a couple of roofs, but all in all the damage wasn't too bad here.

And hi there other Kentucky person! :-D
We lost our place in the EF3. All my bettas were killed as a result.
I managed to save my computer, camera, external hard drive and most of my hard copy pictures.

That's good you're safe and sound though.

Yes, its good to see another KY person on here :)

Were you affected by the tornadoes?
No, thank goodness. Our sirens went off though.
