I have used this site a lot in the past month or so. I'm a new betta owner unfortunately the first betta i got Nero passed shortly after i got him. he was a beautiful all black betta with some silvery blue stripes hidden in his tail fin. I now have Captain Steve Rogers. captain steve for short. named after captain america as his colors are red white and blue currently steve is very sick and i hope everyone on her can help me help him. I love bettas and have a ton of friends that have had bettas but never really got the chance to get one of my own. I know i have alot to learn about betta care and i found this forum when i still had nero and i was looking for something to help him. after surfing the site a bit i decided i would join. The community on here feels so welcoming i cant wait to learn more.

This is The Captain Steve Rogers. This is him in his old tank i recently bought a bigger one for him and he will move in today! When i bought him he was red white and blue hence Captain Steve Rogers. Got him from petsmart. He loves to be near me when im on my computer watching a movie or listening to music. He is very attentive to whats going on around him. sometimes he finds his reflection in the corners and flares up at himself. i have to keep an eye on him because he will sometime try to attack the "other fish" and i dont want him to hurt himself so i have to stop him He love to blow bubbles and thats only when he is a happy little guy.
He hates sudden movement and is easily startled. he doesn't like it when i clean his tank but once he is in clean water he darts around all happy.

im sad to report that after all the moving capt steve rogers had made. ( i went home for 13 days and couldnt leave him at school) he has passed away. i think the stress of travel had gotten to him i woke up the day after i returned and found he had passed.

my friend and i went out a day later and we were looking at the bettas and we were laughing at one that seemed to be watching me. i went closer and he flared up and got all excited. my friend looked at me and said if you dont get him i will long story short i have a pale blue fantail with a white head and a white stripe that goes all the way down his back. he also has brown speckles on him. i scooped him up and took him home. his name is Vincent VanGough. he likes to watch me, flare at his reflection, play hide and seek with me, and eat. he is such a little goofball.
