Hey guys! I joined yesterday and already got some good advice about my betta.
I'm Kurt and I have one fish, His name is Diesel (more formally Diesel the Demon) He's a veil tail with a lot of blue and red on him. He's my secound betta after my first, a crowntail named Highblood Prince, passed away after nearly a year when my parents moved (it was either stress or the cold.) I've had Diesel for nearly three months and in that time he's healed tremendiously from the little thing he was in the pet store. I QT him for a month in a small tank (mainly because his fins looked a little ragged and he wasn't a strong swimmer at first. i did water changes frequintly.) but now he's strong and healthy and enjoying life in a ten gallon tank.
A little about myself, I am eightteen, I live in Georgia and i love animals and i pet sit for my neighbors during the summer. I'm about to graduate highschool and when i do I hope to get knowlegeable about bettas and start breeding them in the next couple years. I have a betta fish blog on tumblr of the same name and often give new owners advice about tank size and a few other trivial things all betta owners should know. I don't know a lot past that just yet but i hope to learn a lot. Im happy to be here!
