I went to watch my boy in his tank, and it got me daydreaming about more babies... Breed him, that sorority I've dreamed of from the start, more pretty boys...

But I have a 75g community tank I've been trying to get its act together! SPACE! The worst, money

It's not stopping me though. :grin2: Especially with all these ads and sales right now.... What do you do???

You do hit a limit and unfortunately it's only after you hit it that you realize what your happy spot was, I wish I had gotten a 10 not a 20 for this second tank. It's a pain to clean compared to a 10.

I don"t know if your 75 Is full or empty but you could probably soup it up to hold all the betta you could dream up!

I absolutely hated divided tanks until I divided a 20 long x3. I had a 10 divided x2 but didn't find it appealing at all. The 20 long is different. I treat each section like a separate tank with it's own 25w heater and small internal filter. I also have four PetCo 5.5 gallon tanks, one AquaTop 360 eight gallon and a 20 long undivided tank. All are Betta-based communities.

You can put another heater in a divided tank?! I have a heater in my divided tank that isn't heating as well, and I've wondered if I could add my spare 7.5 watt in to help keep the temp up.

What I do, is I figure out what my limit is tank size wise, and how many of each (like 4 5s, a 3, and a 2.5 which is what I have now), and go from there. Pretty much all of my tanks have recycled, so I don't have to worry with as many water changes anymore, so my tank size limit, and how many I can handle has increased a bit.

Cool! My 50 watt is the one that is not heating much, which is strange because it heats fine in the other 5 gals. So would it be OK to add the 7.5? I don't see why it would be a problem, but it never hurts to ask.

I had a 50 watt and 7.5 watt together in the 10-gallon. The 50 watt stopped heating though soon after that, but I think it just was not a good heater to begin with (it was the Tetra preset one).
FOr MTS, start saving specifically for fish. Write out a plan, figure out how much it would cost and then save up. Put money in whenever you can: leftover change, work overtime, bought groceries cheaper, etc. One piece of advice before you buy more tanks though is to buy a wire shelf. You can get them from Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, basically anywhere that sells shelves. I have found my shelf from Target very helpful.
Also, you can shop sales too. When sales hit, get supplies from your list, even if you haven't saved all of your money yet, because sales are awesome (just don't buy too much).

The limited amount of space in my home (plus unhappy parents) helps me deal with MTS. I also fulfill my addiction by rescaping my tanks so it's like I have a different tank every few weeks or so! It's always exciting to redo a tank for me.

How I deal with it is A: I'm not made of money B:I have limited space & C:My mom refuses to allow me to get more tanks, unless I'm downgrading and selling my other ones plus since I'm still attending school so I'll have my hands full with homework, tests & eventually the provincial exams + cleaning the tanks I have during all of that

Mine hit the limit recently, hard and fast. Went from oh I'm ok. I can handle this to holy cow what have I done in .2 seconds. The knowledge that it becomes a chore with anymore than about 17 fish keeps me from adding on. I'll have 12 with me at school with 5 staying home this semester so that's even less. I did have 20 a week and a half ago. Rehomed 3, 2 are going to their new homes tomorrow and Monday.
