Okay, I got so much excitment tonight I cannot wait til my fiance gets up so I can tell him about captains first bubble nest! I got captain about a month or 2 ago and he was rather small. Anyways, my questions are,

is a bubble nest an indicator of age and readyness to breed? (not going to breed him, just curious)

How can you tell if a rather grown betta is young or old? I am asking this because I know that bettas vary in size. Looking at my Red you can tell that, he is huge compared to Cap.

Bettas make bubble nests for many reasons like when theyre happy, healthy, passing time, tey also build them incase a female 'passes by' yet they might never see one. Over all bubble nests can mean many different things mine builds them all the time. Hope it helps :)

Thanks. I think it was exciting seeing him make his very first one. My older male has never made one that I am aware of.
