I never had to do that I put a very very tiny amout of bleach in my hot hot water and rinsed, rinsed let dry rinse more and let sit outside to try
Unfortunately I have to start this post by saying my beautiful betta fish, Sir Bubbles, passed this weekend. After a long 3 months battling fin rot (or possibly columnaris, never really could figure it out) I decided it was time to put him down. Now that's it been a few days I've started to think about what to do with his 10 gallon. I eventually want to get another betta so I want to make sure the tank is clean of any disease. I know I will have to throw out the substrate and the filter media (I've already accepted that I'm gonna have to restart my cycle), but I am not sure what to do with the actual tank and decorations.
I've read about the bleach method and the white vinegar method and was just wondering what people's personal experiences have been with disinfecting their tank using either of these methods.
Any information is greatly appriciated!
S.I.P Sir Bubbles :-(
