How to keep my betta warm tonight! Help!!

1728 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  xNick
So it's pretty cold where I live right now and the people I live with refuse to have the heater on no higher than 72 tonight and it feels cooler than this to me. My question is how can I keep my betta warm? I have a heater in the tank but it doesn't seem to be helping much. Could I cover his bowl with a small blanket to keep the heat in?? Any suggestions?

Put it high up in an enclosed space, like a cupboard, and yes, wrap a towel or blanket around it. What size is the tank, and what sort of heater do you have? Larger tanks hold temperatures better and are less sensitive to fluctuations.

Thank you..it is a 2 gallon and it's a 10W heater..larger tanks hold temperatures better? I didn't know.

They take longer to heat up which also means they take longer to cool down so there isn't as much temperature fluctuations going on.
