After Sundance passed on, I decided to keep her tank going for her snails. She had 2 nerites and well...Probably thousands of new zealand mud snails which I found out are invasive so I cannot just dump em in a pond so I kept em.

I told my hubby the other day that I'd love some shrimp because they seem to get along great with snails and would help the algae load in the tank and today he surprised me with 2 cherry and 2 blue velvet shrimp I don't care if they cross breed and make brown babies lol they're adorable and happily munching in the tank right now. Can't take pics yet as they need the light off for 24 hours to acclimate more but you better believe I'll be posting pics when I can!

Some pics now that the lights are on! So far the parameters seem good for them on the GH test it took 11 drops to turn orange and the KH took 6 so I think the hardiness is fine. Ammonia and nitrites at 0ppm, nitrates at 0.5 ppm and the ph is 7.6. Pics are not the best. There's a loooot of nasty gunk on the bottom of the tank that I cannot vacuum because of all the mud snails. I just don't have the heart to vacuum them up I end up spending hours picking each one out of the bucket with tweezers >.<
