I overfed my Betta fish. What now?

So I am sure I overfed my betta fish, because his stomach*got swollen right after I fed him (and i had a feeling it was too much but it was too late) and hasn't gone down since I fed him this morning.* I've read that half of a de-shelled pea would help with his bloating and constipation, but do I give this to him now or should I wait a few days first without feeding him anything, and see if it passes?*

do not use the de-shelled pea. Pea's are great for omnivore and herbivore fish but not for carnivore fish. Betta's are insectivores
Straight plant matter can harm their digestive tract. If you want a digestive aid, use an insect with a shell or a shrimp. Brine shrimp are typically too soft, Mysis Shrimp or Ghost shrimp are the way to go. Mysis are smaller and usually readily accepted. The exoskeleton is not digested but carnivores have evolved specifically to still pass it and it acts like a laxative; cleaning out the system.

But DZIM has it right, just don't feed him until the swelling goes down some and then just feed smaller amounts ^_^ each fish is different for what they can handle food-wise, some eat more than others and so you'll get a feel of how much he can take without problem, very soon!

Fast him for a few days and he should be fine.

I accidentally over fed my betta blood worms a couple of weeks ago, and he stayed on the bottom for most of the day. By night fall he was fine and wanting to eat more. I didn't feed him for a day and when I did, I gave him veggie flakes. He really likes the flakes that I feed my cichlids. Not sure why but he does.
