could that be possible? i mean its out of my computer, and my fish bowl is RIGHT next to it. and its dubstep so it has alot of bass, but when something without that much bass, like oasis or coldplay or something come on, he gets really happy and swims around alot and comes right up to my computer and checks things out. is that possible or am i imagining things?

Fishes, include betta fishes, have feelings. So they do freak out by loud sounds, SOUNDS not just music.

Edit: Just asking, do you fill your fish tank with pipe water? Yeah, it's a silly question. :p But please answer.

no problem :)
some people say its better to use tap water and add a water purifier to it, but i just use bottled water. if you use tap water you have to add the purifier, they cant swim in straight up tap water it will kill them from the chlorine and whatnot

I don't think you should use purified water or distilled water. Normal tap and well water is fine as long as you use a water conditioner.

Heavy base is definitely a good way to upset your fish. To them, it sounds like a heavy pounding - imagine the vibrations it can cause in the water! :)

Tap water with dechlorinator is better for the fish than bottled water, as is doesn't lack all the lovely minerals fish need. It's also much cheaper in the long run. :)

Heavy bass is painful to some people. I can't imagine what it would sound like to a fish. Maybe move your computer farther away from his bowl or vice versa.

About the purified water, Bomba is right. Using pure water is not healthy for anyone in the long run. Because it is devoid of essential minerals, it will suck them from your fish and stress him out. It's actually not good for humans either because it flushes essential minerals from our bodies. Plants don't grow well in it either due to the low mineral content. It has no buffers, so the pH can swing wildly in it. I highly recommend switching to tap water with dechlorinator.

Tap water has essential minerals in it that are good for your betta. Conditioned tap water is better.
