Unfortunately Loki passed last week after succumbing to a infection, unrelated to water quality (he was the weakest of my bettas and was always coming down with something so I suspect poor genetics, sip). I had told myself that I’d use the tank for something other than bettas but when I visited a LFS that tends to have healthy bettas, I knew I would likely end up bringing someone home.

After going back and forth for arguably way too long, I picked out this girl, now named Kitty.

I know that to some people she wouldn’t look like much but something drew me to her. I’m also seeing hints of blue on her body and fins so I’m looking forward to seeing her grow up & her for get comfortable.

Here she is plotting to chase down allllll the shrimp, just for fun.

I also have some photos of other bettas there, they were so pretty. The koi HMs were tempting but I’m not a long finned betta person so I was able to pass on them.
