Hello friends i am new to this forum...
i recently bought a male betta (Mr.Peech).... about 5 days ago.... i have a 5 gallon tank and only one male betta..... i hv noticed a white edge along his fins, the fins are getting thinner.... i am not sure if it is fin rot or something else.... as im having a betta first time...

What type of food do you feed your betta fish? i dont know beacause it was given by the person from whome i bought the fish.... its basic food with spirulina and krill
How often do you feed your betta fish? Two times a day

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? every 5 days
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? i changed 100% because i fear that he has fin rot
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? nothing

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? uneven and thin edges
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? No
When did you start noticing the symptoms? 2 days ago
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? No
Does your fish have any history of being ill? no... beacuse i bought him 5 days ago
How old is your fish (approximately)? the shopkeeper said he is 2 months old.... but im not sure...

First if all, he's gorgeous!
Second, fin rot is black or red edges on the tail. He looks fine to me. As long as you don't notice any further "thinning".
Thirdly, The store may have had him for 2 months but he's not 2 months old!! He's be barely recognizable.. (maybe, from what I gather, bettas only start getting finnage and color around 2 months, but I could be wrong)

the lighter edges might be him just growing new fins. I know my guys fins look lighter at the edge when their growing them out. As long ans the fins dont start looking ripped/shredded and shrinking or deteriorating away you'r all good Nice fish by the way
