My new betta Glacier is acting very strange. I wonder is he is sick or if he is just adjusting. He is currently out of the tank because my girl Vapor keeps escaping to his side of the tank and bullying him. His fins are in worse shape than they were yesterday and I don't know if it is Vapor's fault or if Glacier is sick. Help please.:-(

That looks like fin rot to me. Buy aquarium salts, use 1 teaspoon per gallon.

I had a female and male betta get through dividers and the female ate the males fins off in under two hours. I will never have a divided tank again.

The two living in the same tank together, even though it's divided may be causing him stress. You might want to separate them and see how he does.

I thought that the two living together could be okay because Flare lived alone a year and a half, then I got Vapor and they were fine together. Now Vapor is acting very aggressive when to Flare she was docile and submissive. I have taken her out of the tank until I find permanent housing for her. I will also buy the salts. Thank you all for the advice. I feel badly that his pain is most likely the result of my carelessness.

Perhaps shes bored or has decided to try and get his attention in all the wrong ways? Girly bettas can be very spiteful if they want to.

Also dont worry about the pairings, working out which fish will get along with which is a trial and error process.
