This is my male crowntail betta, I have noticed this since I have gotten him about 5 days ago, his eyes look bulged out compared to my halfmoon and female crowntail. I dont know if its popeye or really anything, just curious and concerned.

Please help, i need to know if hes sick!
He does not have pop eye.

However, you need to be doing more frequent water changes. With a tank your size you need to be doing one 50% and one 100% water changes per week.

Also get a heater asap! Bettas need water that is kept at a constant 78-80 degrees. A heater is the only way to make sure that the water is kept at the right temperature and doesn't flux.
Thanks! Youre sure his eyes arent abnormal? But yes i am working on getting a heater, I just need to find a bowl heater, even though it is a big bowl it is still a bowl and bowl heaters are hard to find
They look completely normal. My EE's eye pop out more then my other bettas. If he had popeye then it would look like his eyes are swollen.

I have both 1 gallon and 3 gallon bowls! Make sure you cover yours with something so he doesn't jump out!

For the heater I use PetSmart's Aqueon® Mini Aquarium Heater. Its only $15 and it doesn't take up much space at all! It comes with suction cups so it will stick to the side of your bowl just fine. The National Geographic™ Compact Submersible Aquarium Heater also works just fine. You can buy them in store OR order them online from PetSmart directly or via amazon or ebay.

It MUST be heated. Anything below 76F is COLD to a betta fish and will affect their health.
Yeah, soon (within a week or 2) I will work on getting them all filiters, I have 3 so I will have to get one at a time, either him or my halfmoon eith the healing tail will get one first
