Sorry it was suppose to say around $28 and not 8, I just took it of lol. I played $25 for my girls+ shipping. I am looking for a betta imbellis male as I would like to start breeding the species. I have 2 female betta imbellis. Is there a species that can stay in a pair? I am starting to breed betta splendens and will be getting new tanks in late April- mid May anyway. Is there a pair that I could keep in a 8 gallon live planted or a 7.5 gallon live planted with a sponge filter? I am willing to learn about the species, I know every wild betta is different. Thanks!

OHH $28 makes more sense. You could keep the species as a pair but you must introduce them similar to breeding (2 week process) and they will most likely breed right away. I would only do 1 male and 1 female though-the 8 gal seems fine but once the fry grow they will probably need to be upgraded to a 20-40 gal. They are slow growers and can take 5-6 months to reach maturity. Most of them can stay together the entire time in a big tank but you may need to jar a few males. Do you have live food cultures on hand? Do you have a pic of the tank?

Just have the tank. I'm ordering live plants April 11th and will do the build then. I'm doing fluvle stratnum substrate. I will send you a picture when I Get it planted. The way I am I will order the plants sooner then April 😅
