Hi everyone,
My new betta is scratching himself against his plants/substrate but there's no other sign of anything wrong with him?? There's no white spots, no gold "dust" (he's mostly iridescent turquoise so it's slightly hard to tell;doesn't look like the ones on google images) and as far as I can see it's not anchor worms? He looks just like he did yesterday, only itchy... I've stared at his gills and fins but I can't notice anything...
I got him two days ago, put him in a 10 liter (2.5 gal) tank (wanted a 20L but mother made me compromise), with a bunch of hygro, floating plants, some unknown bunch of aquatic plant, 4 small cherry shrimp and glass substrate. The temp is a steady 27.5 C (around 82 F), with natural mild lighting.
Should I just treat it with some aquarium salt? Do his symptoms (or lack thereof) remind you of any specific disease?
Thanks for your time! Appreciate any helpful input
