ok... where to even begin... LOL

So this was my sorority before with 3 females in it (the fourth turned out to be male...) someone suggested I needed more decor to break up the lines of sight and give more hidey places so I did just that... as well as bought two more females!

Everyone is much happier in here now! There are a few nipped fins from the first few days of introduction, but everyone seems to be healing alright.

So here are my females:

"Nugget"

Gold Dragon HM female from Chard off of AB!!! I love her! She's sweet!

"Cynder"

Black Orchid CT female also from Chard off of AB. She's been really eggy and bloated since I got her. I've been keeping an eye on her and she's doing fine.

Unnamed right now

Blue CT female I got from my work. She was the victim of the "female" (really a male) that I had added to the sorority unaware it was really a male. I feel bad for her but she is doing fine despite it. She just looks a little ratty right now! She seems to be in charge of the sorority! lol

Unnamed right now

I think her color is called Pineapple? She's a VT female from Petco. She was cute so I took her home!

Unnamed right now

Another VT female from Petco. No idea what to officially call her color but she was intriguing and I wanted some red in the tank! So she came home too!

Now for the boys... tehehehehehe! I've been busy acquiring boys.

I got a Blue butterfly Delta tail male on one of my many recent trips to petco. No name for him yet... I'm so not creative! He seems to have something going on with the scales on his head. They are white... not fuzzy or "ichy" but just white. It almost looks like scales are missing. I've been treating him with warm clean water and aquarium salt. He's currently in the divided 6 gallon with another fish to be mentioned later (also needing AQ salt treatment!)

My gorgeous boy! I love him. I hope the issue with his head isn't terribly serious. His activity is perfectly normal and he has a great appetite. We'll see how he does.

I got a coppery Salamander (it said HMPK but I think he's a regular PK) from Petco! I don't have any great pics of him but he's moving into a divided ten gallon tank in a little while so I'll add a pic of him later. I am going to call him Spyro as he is purpley and kinda dragony looking! LOL

Then there is the newest one... Le Sigh!!! I have made a betta breeder friend at my store and he said to me "So I only breed plakats now and I have a really nice full finned blue marble double tail male... want him?" LOL!!!! nope I'm good thanks! KIDDING! He brought him in for me yesterday! He was a little bit stressed and one of his eyes was cloudy but he's been in warm clean water with a little bit of AQ salt and it looks much better today. What a lovely boy he is. He is so showy and loves to pose for the camera. His fins are darn near perfect if I do say, and his color is awesome. He looks to me like he has some dragon scaling. What do you guys think? I think I'm going to breed him to Nugget once I get my spawn tank all ready to go! <3

I find myself staring at him for ever... he's so handsome I can't even believe this fish was given to me.

:)

LOL! I love him!

He also needs a name. I stink at coming up with names so suggestions are welcome as usual! Oh and one of Shruikan cause it is adorable and creepy at the same time o_O

(the camera is reflecting weird.. but look at his face. Pffft. Goofball!)

That's that for now! thanks for looking!

Awww they're all so beautiful! :) That marble doubletail is the closest to perfect that I've seen in a long time!! So many anal fins are too long now, but his is just amazing! His colouring is to die for<3
I am not a huge fan of double tails myself for the reason you stated and because it is hard to find a nice one with even caudal fins. So when I laid my eyes on him I about melted. LOL I feel lucky to be his fishy mom! LOL
Haha I dont blame you!!! I love doubletails but yes, only if they're simmetrical lol. I'm really picky.
What about Midnight or something like that for your dark blue female?
Midnight is a good name... it's just so overused. I should add that I'm a fan of unique and uncommon names! I like character names from books and tv/movies I like. Mostly fantasy mythical stuff. I also like music names. The only problem is I've had so many pets/bettas over the years that I've run out of the ones that I've wanted to use. And I don't like reusing names. So yeah. lol

Is it sad that part of me wants to name the DT Nightcrawler after the Xmen character... <3 I'm sorry... is my inner nerd showing? LOL
Oooh..movie/tv names eh?! Hmm.. Haha! Nightcrawler would be a good name! If you wanted to keep going with the Eragon theme, he could totally be Murtagh! haha
:( I had a rat named Murtagh... Also Brom and Oromis. My three boys I miss them! They all died a few years ago. I was also thinking Tornac, which was Murtagh's horse. I was also thinking of referencing the first book to when Eragon was trying to pic a name for Saphira and reads off a whole list of dragon names that Brom had told him... I might just do that. I'll post the ones I like! LOL Maybe I'll name the Delta Tornac. I like it!

I kinda have this silly thing about only naming the Dragon scale bettas after actual dragons... with the one exception being Spyro the coppery salamander, cause he's just awesome! LOL

Also a quick disclaimer... I haven't finished Brisingr yet and have yet to read inheritance so anyone who happens upon this thread who has finished the series DON'T SPOIL IT FOR ME! lol

That orchid CT Female and the one right below it look just like my Sapphira!:)

Beautiful fish!

Edit: Love that series lol. 'Tis Sapphira's namesake. xD
Thank you! They do look like her! I love little CT females and their dainty little spikes!

OK... I found a name for the DT. Eridor. It was a male dragon name mentioned by Eragon to Saphira while he was trying to come up with a name for her. So The delta will be Tornac and the Double tail will be Eridor! YAY! Now I just need names for the three females... I want the yellow VT's name to have something to do with pineapples... lol

Haha, that's awesome!

Pineapples....hmm lol

edit: How about Ananas for one of them? It's part of the pineapple's original name. Comosus for the other? (other half of the original name?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pineapple

:)

Hurray you found names!! :D I dont re-use names either, it just bugs me. It feels like I'm disrespecting the deceased pet or something, y'know? Maybe i'm just weird lol. The only time I re-used a name was on my bearded dragon Draco. My brother had a beardie like 10 years ago named Draco and the name just suited mine too. Otherwise, I dont disobey my rule! :p
Those are some nice Females! It makes me want a Female :-D
Thanks guys. So yes the two boys have names and I still need names for 3 females.

Tappy, those names are hard for me to remember/pronounce... good idea tho! I was actually kinda thinking Pina (with the ~ over the N) Like Pina Colada? Doesn't that have pineapple in it? lol what do you guys think?

DaisyKD, I love pretty much anything fantasy. Harry Potter, LOTR, Pirate's of the Carribean, Inheritance, you know... that kind of stuff. Mythical names too... yeah

Beautiful Betta, I agree with you. My mom's first betta she named Azul and when he died and we got a replacement (when we figured out how to actually care for bettas...) she wanted to name him Azul Dos... like Azul the second in spanish... lol I put my foot down so we named him Pez instead.
I don't know if this will fit any of them but I've always thought Hedwig was a cute name after Harry's owl. Or Nymphadora? Tonks?
OOOOH! I'm gonna name the red one Nymph! Thanks DaisyKD!!!
Great name choice!! I loooove Tonks from HP :) She's awesome.
I know! And it looks like this female might change color a little too which would be fitting! LOL Thanks for the suggestion! One more needs a name, the blue CT female!!
