I know that master test kits are best - I simply can't afford one right now (soon, though!).
Instead, I have some JBL 5-in-1 strips. Yes, I know they aren't great, and that they can be inaccurate at times but they are what I have.
My fish isn't in the tank I want to test, so I'm not worried if it's a little bit out at present. I'm hoping for a ballpark reading on nitrites/nitrates, though.
When I test the water using the strips, the pale grey NO2 and dark grey NO3 panels don't change colour at all. If I had a lot of either in my tank what colour would the strip panels change to?
Can anyone who has used these strips tell me whether they're okay for ballpark readings or are basically useless?
