I just got a betta from Petsmart a little while ago and I noticed a pretty shimmer on its fins, body, and head. I looked into it and apparently, a gold shimmer is velvet? Can someone please confirm for me if my fish indeed has velvet?

If my fish does have velvet, what is the best commercially available (most pet stores, petco, or petsmart) for it?

It's probably just iridescence. Velvet will look like pollen.

that is just natural iridescence. Bettas are iridescent....

Velvet is actually not shiny. it is actually a matte grey/gold dust that will cover your fish.

look up actual photos of velvet you'll see that yours looks nothing like it...
