I would not recommend it. Ladybugs have a very hard shell that can't really be digested by fish and they also have foul smelling blood that would probably make your fish sick.

 

I believe the recommendation is to avoid feeding anything live you catch outside to your fish. You just can't be sure they don't have parasites or carrying some sort of pesticide. However, pet stores routinely carry pinhead crickets and those should be small enough for Laurence to eat.

 

I fed my two bettas live fruitfly's and/ or the wingless type. Available as a culture for around $14.99 Canadian for a container. Used as an afternoon treat lol.
