Lily pad lounger from petco

Has anyone used these if so what do you think? I got two today. One for Prince and one for Leviathan. I'm slightly worried about the fishing line that secures it down. If that has been deemed dangerous I can remove it and use the flower part as a floater for a place to anchor a nest or something.

So far Prince is flaring at it and Levi doesn't care

You would be better off using live plants like water sprite.

I agree. My betta sometimes sleeps on his broad-leaf anubias. Anubias is a very easy plant.

The plastic bit in the middle of that lounger concerns me. Does it have any jagged edges that could catch a beta's fins?

I worry that they could get tangled in the anchor line and drown or get injured trying to get loose. If there was a better way to float them I would think about getting one to try out.

I would go live plants but no store near me sells floaters and I can't afford shipping

I have it in with my VT and have had no issues with the part in the middle, or the string that attaches it to the suction cup, he never seems to notice it. He really enjoys resting in the middle at night. So I say it's something to look into if live floating plants aren't an option.
