I came home today and my Betta has what looks like two loose looking scales on it. It also has a thread from the filter cartridge caught on its fin. How can I remove it? Could the thread be pulling at his scales?



He is in a filtered tank with a heater, just did a 25% water change yesterday. Overall he seems happy and healthy, but this scale thing is new.

If the intake is too strong for him, put some mesh or a sponge over the intake to prevent him from being sucked into the filter again.


He could've rubbed against a sharp object or hurt himself against the stones. Just the keep the water clean and it should heal.
