Hey all my betta Tim Burton seems to be looking a little bit more pale than when I got him. He was a dark black now hes so much lighter. I dont know if its my eyes playing tricks but Im noticing that now. He is swimming a lot and eating well. The ammonia level in his tank is safe. His water temperature is at 80F. What do you guys think it is? Is there such thing as a betta changing its colors? I know theres marble betta but I dont know if he's a marble. I hope he is a marble because I dont want him to be losing his color because hes sick :/

Do you have a before picture, then take an after picture? Some of my bettas waiver in their colors now and then, depending on their mood, stress level, and yes sickness too. But if he is acting fine I wouldn't worry too much.

I'll take some pictures and compare them. I also turned off his filte (it was on the lowest flow possible) but I'm gonna see if maybe that was stressing him out.

Perhaps! Some of my bettas cannot have ANY filter :roll: even the softest flow, unless it were a sponge filter.

So I am now noticing that hes not as pale anymore. I think it was the filter. My poor baby Maybe the current was making him swim too much to where he was tired and stressed. Thanks for your help

No problem :lol: if you can, try getting a sponge filter and an adjustable valve for the tubing. Trust me!

You can also baffle the filter with an aquarium sponge on the intake and outflow.
