Lump getting larger. =(

My poor boy Tuna has had this lump ever since I adopted him at petco it has gotten larger and I fear that it might give him trouble swimming to got to the surface one of these days. I know it's lymphocystis but is there any way to make him happier? He has a NPT and lives in a 2.6 gallon tank heated and with a sponge filter.

Here is a picture of his lump:

The lump is not that large as of right now but it got larger this past week.

Crap the January dates need to be reversed. XD
Do you think it makes him unhappy? It's in a good place, it can't really mess up his organs or nothing!
It seems like he is acting fine for the most part. With how fast it is growing now I fear it might get too large for him to handle. He seems to rest a lot and not be as active as my girl and my other two boys that's for sure. I just have to keep watch. I was thinking it maybe the sponge filter that is stressing him out but if I turn that off, my bacteria might die. =( I have it as low as I can though. His colors look fine and he is eating and flaring fine. I just wished it would just fall off already so I can stop getting stressed out cause of it. LOL
