i want to buy a few live plants to supplement the fake plants i have in my aquariums. probably some java moss and maybe a moss ball maybe some anacharis.

my question is... how do you make plants safe so that they dont contaminate your fish with some disease, bacteria or parasite? do you rinse them and quarantine them for a time in clean water? do you quarantine them in water with some kind of medicine or chemical?

sorry if this has been asked many times. i looked thru post for some time and didnt find the answer

just quarantine the plants in some aged water? (hawaii has good water, i rarely use a water conditioner)

is there a standard amount of time?

Just use tap water I was told and I am getting some moss balls next week so I plan putting mine in just plain tap water for a week and change the water each day just to be sure all is well with them before adding them to my tank.

Tap Water would ruin the Plants. Use Tap Water treated with Conditioner to Quarantine.
