Hi Everyone,

I have a male betta in a 60L (around 15 gallon) tank by himself. I would like to get him a tank mate but he has eaten a harlequins eye and tail and so had to be removed from my smaller (7 gallon) community tank... would a snail be more suitable as a tank mate or does anyone have any other suggestions? by the look of how it went down, he was threatened by their speed and colour

Every betta is different. Some of them kill anything else in their tanks, others coexist peacefully with their tankmates. Can the smaller tank handle a snail if he doesn't like it with him?

It should be able to :) I was thinking the same thing, just seems like a shame to have a 60L tank with just him:p

I know how you feel. I hope a snail works out!

I would try a nerite snail. They have a bit more armor than mystery snails so it is harder for bettas to attack and eat them.
