I picked up my first betta a couple of months ago at Petco, and was drawn to him because he was a cellophane with completely transparent fins - no coloration whatsoever. He's gradually been developing large red patches on his fins, and he's been getting more opaque overall. Is there a way to tell if he's a marble, or just developing his permanent adult colors? I loved his original coloration, but at least I don't have to scrutinize the tank to spot him anymore...

I think cellophanes have the marble gene. I am not 100% sure though.
