Hi, my name Kelly. I have bred and kept bettas in the past but stopped for a few years but I just moved to a new home and was debating on getting a betta again...well one day I stopped at big Al's pet shop and saw their all the beautiful bettas they have. It was a bit overwhelming though half moons, red devils, black samurai and galaxy kio just name a few. Well one little guy I say around 3 months caught my eye. A galaxy koi. He has 4 colours in him white, black, red and orange. His lips are black and looks like he's wearing lipstick lol Anyway I bought him and set up my 5.6 gallon tank with live plants and substrate, a small rock and a drift wood. The little guy which I think I call Kio is very curious, he has pet snails that when he 1st met he had to figure out what the heck they are by pecking one. He now leaving them alone after he figure out they not enemy or food. He has a healthy appetite. I think he's even practicing making bubbles. Being a koi I know he may change in colour and pattern but I hope it won't be too drastic a change. I like his pattern now lol although if the orange becomes more vibrant I won't mind.

😊 thanks. I think he likes me or knows I'm what feeds him. When the lights turned on he's front and center looking at me. He's not timid in anyway. Just curious...hmm... maybe I should have named him curious George

Major update kio has grown into a major hunk of amale betta and with a cute personality. Also he makes bubble nests every day... his colors cane in vibrant and I think his fins are great too but I'm no expert....far from it. So I did pick him up a potential mate but she too young and sigh has fin rot...she's from petsmart yes I know not greatest place to get a betta but I love her white she is and she's a dumbo fin. I'm unsure what tail type she is... fin rot got into all fins... don't think its stage 3 but I'm guessing stage 2....1st think I did was put her in a hospital tank with clean water and some salt....wish me luck and yes she's also tad fiesty....I need a name for her...

I don't like way she looks I am tad worried but something about her....if anyone has suggestions on helping her fins grow back better I appreciate it
