Not sure, but most things can be treated by QT, then 1tsp/g AQ salt with daily 100% water changes. Almost looks like a fungus
Okay thanks! I'm going to the local pet store to get AQ salt today!
If they have it you should also get API General cure and API fungus guard, just in case. Never get any medicine ending in -fix
I would check that there is nothing in the tank he could have caught his fin on? It looks a bit pinky possibly a torn blood vessel if he had caught his fin anywhere. If that is the case warm clean water and it will heal fine on its own.

If it was me I would hold of on the salt for a day just to see if it looked better on its own.
Ok! He doesn't really have any thing his fins could get caught on. He has a few plastic plants but I already checked them for sharp edges. Also the rest of his plants are lib end he's has never had a problem with them. It looks a little more pinkish this morning but he ate just fine.
This is this morning. [URL="http://[/URL]

Is that the same fish? What a color difference!
Yes! He is darker at night than during the day! He always has looked like that! He seems to be marbling purple at the end of his fins.
I'm also wondering if it would still be safe to clean his tank. Today's cleaning day but I don't want to stress him.
No clean the tank, that can only benefit him if it is a slight tear or anything like that.
Ok! I will go ahead and clean it now.
The spot on him looks better today and a little smaller! I don't think I'm going to QT him now! Hopefully it clears up all together! :)
