This is Moby:
I finally bought him yesterday! He's my first fish, so I'm quite excited.
His fins appear to be slight torn, which is a shame not unexpected. I actually had to ask if the pet store had any Betta in the back because there were none on display. I purchased Moby after being informed that "a couple of fighting fish got into the same tank" a while ago and that they were "pretty much" healed now.
I've been running my heater on the reccomended temperature of 26 degrees celcius but I've cranked it up a little, a little concerned about how much time he's been spending around the heater.
Also, to my surprise, I've already spotted him making bubble at the top of the tank! He hasn't eaten thus far however, only chewing up one pellet and spitting it back out. I've read that sometimes Betta do this just so it's easier to eat, so I'll be patient and see what happens in the next couple of days.
