I have a 10 gallon tank with a betta, 3 hatchet fish and 1 adf (1 died cause it had a disease from the store in the second week :C)

My betta doesn't mind the hatchet fish, he doesn't even chase them around, just avoids them. The hatchet's stick together in the middle or top of the tank. Sometimes closer to the bottom, but they are supposed to swim at the top... So if I were to get a few more would it make a difference? How many should I get, also I have a great filter and the water levels have been good for 2 weeks.

Yeah you should bump up the numbers, get 3 more. They like to be in groups of six and more, they're quite nervous and shy when they're not. Also try to get some floating plants, they do better with it and are less skittish since it diffuses the lighting.

Also try to get your one ADF another friend. They're social beings.

I will probably get the 3 more in a few days, and what floating plants do you recommend? My last experience with live plants (hornworts) was not very good. I have LED lights, and the aquarium gets nice sunlight in the room its in(not direct)

I will get another adf if this one lives another 2 weeks, and I will not buy it from the store i did before -_-

Right now I'm using Water Wisteria as my floating plant it's been doing great under two of my LED lights, they're both different. Water Wisteria is easy to care for and a low maintenance plant I recommend it.

Anacharis works well for a floating plant - or you can plant it. Maybe some duckweed?

I have heard hornwort is a pain to deal with cause it sheds all the time.
