Hi i have a betta fish who doesnt move much he just lays at the bottom of the tank but when i put food in he swims really fast to get it and then sinks back down to the bottom of the tank.

i just moved him today to a 10 gallon tank with a filter and heater but he use to live in a 1 gallon tank. i put some salt in the tank thinking he might have fungus since some white fuzzy stuff has grown around his head and fins but its very little.he is moving a little more in the 10 gallon tank but still lays at the bottom of the tank.

I dont know what is wrong with him can anyone help me? im worried that if i put medicine in the tank and he is not sick it might kill him .

I may be wrong, but when I first moved my Betta to his 10g it took him a day to adjust to such a big tank. But don't take my word- there could still be something wrong with him, but he might just be adjusting... How long has he been in the 10g for?

Honestly, from the picture you provided I can't pick out anything physically wrong with your fish....I'm not really seeing anything white or fuzzy. Could you maybe try to get a couple more pictures of different angles? Maybe catch him in his cup/other small clear container if you can to get a better look at the area in question?

If it is some fungal-like infection, salt isn't going to do much on its own really. You'd want to QT him and start him on a round of some stronger medication...however, you don't do that until you're absolutely positive what you're dealing with....so a couple more pictures would be great if you can.

If you could please fill this out with as much information as you can, maybe even two separate ones for the 10 and the 1 gallon, that would be great.

Also, how is his 10 gallon decorated? Could you post a picture of the whole setup? And how did you acclimate him to his new home?
