He is still alive thank god! Anything I can do? I am worried about him! He is resting now after that shock do you think he will be back to swimming???

When my betta jumped out he lied on the carpet till he wasn't very wet anymore. When I found him and put him in his tank he went straight to the bottom and was on his side not swimming. So I cupped him and gave him only a little water so he wouldn't be far from the surface. As he gained energy back and could swim I slowly rose the water level and put him back in his tank the next day.

So, I think if you give him a little time and put him in a lower water level if he is struggling to get to the surface he should be back to normal soon enough. I wish your fish good luck recovering!

He is able to get to the top but breathing hard

Also our kitchen table it ain't clean so I worry about that too

Maybe you could use a little extra water conditioner if you're worrying about contaminants, and float a plant near the top for him to sit on? Just an idea.

Oh, and a lid might be in order. At least plastic wrap with some holes punched in it until then. Or lower the water level by three inches or so.

The water is lowered now and as soon as he gets better hopefully I will go find me a cover for my bowl
