Yesterday I bought a male crowntail betta, and I love him! I named him Mako. Here are some pictures of him, sorry they're kind of fuzzy.

Hi, welcome to the forum :D
Your fishie is beautiful. However he really needs a heater and more room to be truely happy. His water should be around 78F. If it is too low you will notice he will be sad and not want to swim around very much due to the cold. It's recommended that you find at least a 2 gallon set up for him, since it'd be easier to heat. He'd love more room as well. For now I'd recommend taking either the plant or cave out to give him more space <3

Thanks!
Yes, I noticed it was bit crowded in there too. I was planning on taking the plant out and replacing it with a smaller one to give him more room for now, and see how that works. I've also thought about moving him to a small aquarium we have, I'm not sure how many gallons it holds but it should be easily big enough for him; I'll just have to look at it again.
I bought a water thermometer today and the as of now water is slightly cooler than it should be. If it's necessary to have a heater in there, I'll have to move him from the bowl to the small tank anyway-- they don't have heaters for fish bowls, do they? :3

Bowl heaters exist but they go under the bowl and are too weak to be anything other than a waste of money :/

Petco has one that has good reviews its for bowls and is only $10. I have the walmart one and it works great in 1 gallons. Your bowl is perfectly fine as long as you are willing to make the nesessary water changes 1 50% and 1 100% each week. I would also exchange the plant for a silk one thats nice and tall so he can rest on it.
And he is a beautiful boy!

Awesome! If you want something bigger, just go to a Petco and LPS and pick up a Kritter Keeper... the biggest I think is 3 gallons, and like $15.00 :)

BTW Beautiful fish, love the name
